1/2 Day Virtual SoulScaping Retreat -To Ignite Hope and Dynamic Poise for your Future
Friday 8th January 2021 11-5pm UK Time
Well, 2020 was quite a year! It would be extremely tempting just to brush the whole year under the carpet and move on, wouldn't it?
In the midst of the insane tragedy of 2020, something incredible happened: A community of practice was born around "SoulScaping".
This small but elegantly formed (and eminently powerful) community seemed to spring out of nowhere, and it was born of the breakdown of the old systems that I had grown so accustomed to.
Though it's been a tragic year, on many levels, it's also been vivifying.
This creative practise of SoulScaping has sparked deep hope in me and many others for how the world can be when we create from within. You may well be one of these people.
I wonder if, given the time and space to reflect, you might see the birth of a new beginning within you, as we look ahead to the somewhat blank canvas of a new year.
With this in mind, to start 2021, I'm offering a small virtual retreat.
This will broadly take the from of three stages:
Looking Back: Using Hindsight
We will take a look at the body of work that you created through 2020 and identify themes and patterns throughout the work. This is a powerful way to see the seeds of new beginnings.
Looking Ahead: Using Foresight
With these new patterns in mind, we will create work inspired by what a new future could look like for you, one that is more aligned to the patterns you identify in your work.
The future, like time, flows in two directions. We can emanate our energies forward, and we can tune into a part of us that seems to have walked the path ahead. We'll take the time to creatively explore this dynamic.
Looking In: Using Insight
We'll use the power of the collective group to create a journal extract or a a piece of art forged in the power of hindsight and foresight.
Who are you going to be? and how are you going to show up this year (and beyond)?
This way we truly bring ourselves into the future we want to create.
My intention is that we will feel poised and ready to take on this year, like an artist ready to create, to turn the feelings and experiences of that which will come into the art of our life experience.
“The Space In between”
I would like to show you a practice that I learned at art college, where we look at the “the space in between.” It is a great aid in creating still life studies, and is a lot of fun. To do this, you will need to arrange a few objects in the room, and I'll show you a cool way of drawing them. No real artistic experience is necessary, just willingness to try out something new.
Finally I willI will share with you thoughts about how we continue this journey into the future, with an invitation into a community of practise.
